Oil change
I'm surprised this one hasn't been covered before in the "How-To" section. Sure it's simple but we all had to learn from someone or somewhere, and it might as well be here.

I think I just n00bed myself...... The guy i bought the car from gave me six quarts of oil, so i figured it was 5.x quarts. So i was readin the owners manual or the cd and I added all the parts that it listed w/ how much oil each one used and it was like 5.4 quarts so thats what i put in. I just checked it and from what I can tell, its hard to see mobil 1 when its fresh, its about an inch over the max line.....

I'll start doing my own changes when it's warmer outside.

I just did my own oil change for the first time. I put 4.75 quarts while the car was still on ramps. When I checked the dipstick, the oil is really light, but it seems like I added way too much! Whats the deal? I drove around for a bit but that didn't really lower the dipstick mark too much.

You could use the nice and messy let a little out method. When I over fill one of my cars (it does happen), I just use a clean container/funnel and drain it out. Then refill it properly with the reclaimed oil less the over fill.
BTW I always drop the car down to level ground to fill it.
