SAFC2 dimensions (will it fit in lower panel)?

I'm considering the SAFC2. Can it be mounted in the lower panel location under the radio? Has anyone done this? Thanks...

it will fit...you will have to either do a little cutting to use the mounting plate that comes w/ the safc... or you could bend the plate.... I have pics up...i'll try to find it...

I could not get it to work with the apexi mounting bracket but a small bracket from home depot made the install easy. so yes it will fit.

yeah it fits just fine -- put the apexi mounting bracket on upside down. mounts much easier that way.

I was looking at random evos on cardomain and found this. Is this what you are trying to do because this was the idea I had for when I get my SAFC.

Black SAFC 2...used the apexi mounting plate but did trimming to the top,(on the inside).

Forgot to mention, the timer is an HKS ( in old clock location), which also required minor trimming with a dremel...

Wow. I've never seen them stick out as far as on the pics posted. Mine mounted flush, using the supplied bracket. It looks like those that stick out pretty far like that might possibly get in the way of gear shifts.....

I pulled my unit out to give you a better view as to how it is mounted. Hope the pics help. Sorry for the smudges on the front of the S-AFC 2. I know they are unsightly, but you get the point with the pics, I hope.

In Pic 3, you can see where I had to cut a corner off of the box, to allow for the wire loom to go through to the ECU. This is the only cutting that I had to do and is completely unseen when installed.
