really, the only "difficult" part is getting the little ring in that holds the BOV to the flange in the pipe....just use either needle nose pliers, or the needlenose pliers that have the tip bent 90 degrees or whatever....other than that, the rest is just taking out the original pipes and rubber connections, and putting in the plug into that one tube...right now I have the HKS SSQV ver2 but I'm going to put the stock BOV back in....don't get me wrong, I like the HKS, sounds cool (and pretty loud), and I've never had any problems with it. It was the first thing I did to my car, because this was m first TURBO car...I was new to Imports and was inspired to get it by someone who is really ricey....but I loved the sound, and now I'm going to be getting a TBE, a cone filter intake, and a tune, but will be putting in the stock MR BOV.

thats my 2 cents....

My IX already had this on it with the custom piping 2 and 3 inch from the intake, but I HATE the BOV.. its ok when shifting but anything over 3000 on the revs and the faint twich on the throttle and it blows... f-ing annoying... Is there anyway to turn up the Blow pressure??

all yall are trippin. the hks sounds great and is meant for performance, something that is commonly over looked on this bov. its a pull type valve not push like the others.so it wont leak under high boost pressures or at idle. just puttin in some info. i bought mine mainly for performance, but it also sounds good.

The HKS SSQV gets a bad rap because people aren't using the recirculating kit and wonder wtf is wrong with their car. Then you got these idiots jumping on the bandwagon who have no fooking experience with it whatsoever claiming its sucks and its rice blah blah blah. It is one of the best, proven bov's out there.

What about my post up there? Does anyone else have the problem? Cruising over 70mph/3000rpm+ and any change in throttle position and it blows off. makes the car kinda shudder... with these BOV's there really is no easy way to just accelarate at a slow pace, its either full on boost and go, or shift earlier and be slow...

I don't intend to sound mean or offend you, but if you don't like the it the way it is, why don't you just get a different one that would suit what you want? I understand what your saying about it blowing off at 3k+ rpms, because i have it and it always happens to me, but I don't mind it. but yeah, if you don't like it, get a different one

Doesn't sound mean to me bro? So thanks.. I am learning to deal with it, but didn't know if it could be adjusted or not, I would of thought it would be related to accelerations rate or throttle position, but guess I was wrong.

Mine is not an atmospheric BOV, it does recirculate, or at least it has the pipe to do that, I am still a newbie with this, but learning fast!!

I would post a picture if I knew how.

Where would I start looking if I wanted to get one that didn't blow unless I was shifting or hard WOT to deceleration

Yeah seriously.

I got the TurboSmart kit which does both vent into the atmosphere and recirculate back into the intake to keep the MAF happy.
