I can’t believe this is something you really want to do, but it’s your car. You will have to remove the front and rear windshields. The head liner is next along with the trim pieces for the “A, B and C” pillars. Once you have the head liner out you have to remove all the spot welds by drilling them out but make sure you don’t drill through the roof. Next you have to remove the rubber weather seals on the top of the car they run the length of the roof, plan on replacing them. I have never seen one come out intact. Then you have to skin the roof from the upper frame of the car, the factory uses a very strong bonding compound to hold the skin in place. You have to peal the roof off with out bending it, as you want to use it over again. Once you get the roof off you will need to clean any remaining glue from the upper frame and from the roof skin. Don’t forget to disconnect the wiring to the sunroof and head lamp. Then go to a body shop supply store and get the bonding agent. Put the bonding agent in the valley of the upper frame like the factory did. Then you will have to spot weld the new roof in the same holes you drilled out, remember at the factory a robot does this so it can monitor the amount of heat so the skin does not warp. Next make sure you plug the wiring harness back in. Then it is just a matter of reinstalling the head liner and the trim pieces.

I hope this is helpful, there is a lot of work involved in doing something like this. It can be done with patients and the right knowledge and tools. Good luck!!

By the way if there is any reason you cant reuse the roof you take off AMS has a Carbon Fiber roof that is 16 lbs lighter than factory and is only $1199.95, just in case.

I didn't say it was a good idea I just told him how to do it and where to get a new roof if he messed up. I am sure there are alot of little shops that will do it if you look hard enough.
