New idea for cam & lifters?

Hi

I spoke to my mechanic today about putting in new GSC S1 cams and the lifter bleeding process. He says he doesn’t like just bleeding the lifters of oil and then putting them back in empty as when you start the car they make a great deal of noise while they refill again (he said it sounds like a machine gun).

He swears that what has worked for him every time is first bleeding the lifters of all the oil and then soaking them and filling them with new fresh oil (while outside the motor in a seperate container). He then puts back the full lifters just before the final cam goes on closes everything up and then starts the motor while the lifters are now full of oil.

What do you guys think? Is there madness in his method?

Why bleed the lifters to begin with then? Other than that, yes it would make less of a racket.

do the lifters bleed down if you leave them in place when swapping cams? i plan on installing cosi 272's soon and would guess if the lfters are'nt removed this would'nt be an issue.
