yeah!!! that will work. The thing is that the mechanic that will work on my car suggested he would take the motor out of the car ! I said NO WAY and I called Sheperd Transmissions and they told me it should take about 4 hours and the motor stays in place. So I needed some guidance to do it properly.
Thanks alot!
Thanks alot!

That evomoto write up is good, but there are some things I can do much better. Still took me 2.5 days nearly solo on jacks, except for a few parts like axle nut remove/replace. But I can get the trans off and on by myself.
Using the same techniques as the evomoto writeup though it took at one point 3 of us to get my friends evo9 trans back in. And it took us 5 days because it was the first time we did it.
It leaves out critical details for certain parts so watch out.
I also do not like how they try to Jam the transmission back in through the tight space though, with the subframe in the way.
Also I don't think that writeup shows how to remove your banjo bolt from the transfer case and bleed the system after you are done. I forgot the exact procedure, but you turn the key in on position and press the gas pedal to actuate the pump to bleed it. Look it up, you gotta do it if you want your acd to work right.

My son and I just completed an Exedy twin disk clutch install using the Evomoto write up and this was extremely helpful. I also live around 1.5 hours from John Shepard's shop and he helped with additional parts/fluids. I can not thank John and Trevor at Shep Trans enough for all their help. John does indicate they can do the clutch replacement in around 4.5 hours. This is in a perfect environment by experienced technicians who work on just EVO's and GTR's all day.
It took us two weekends with 1 week in between to gather parts. We also upgraded motor mounts and needed some O rings for the T-case and fiber washers for the clutch fork. We worked in a normal garage without a lift using floor jacks.
This is not a simple job. Be prepared for a learning curve. The next time will take half the time.
Our TOB would NOT release because this is the part that failed and was partially chewed up. Unbolting the clutch hat to separate the tranny housing is lots of fun!!! Your have to work thru the starter opening and the clutch fork hole to get to the bolts.
Hope this helps!!!
