First off I have a 03 evo, hks 264 cams, injen air intake, greddy rz bov, injen uicp, owner had the car tuned by david buschur.

When coming to a stop, this morning at a red light it just died, and will not keep idling, it will just die. I also have noticed a loud tick, coming from the injectors. I know its the injectors because you can feel them ticking. After you take off it runs normal, boost is the same. If I set there and mess with it at idle I can get it to idle steadily but at like 500-600 rpms. I have taken the plugs out and they are fine, checked all connectors and wires, no CEL.

How/where do I start troubleshooting this?

 

A similar thing happened to a friend, he had the idle control sensor on the throttle body go out.

 

A/C off or on?

 

A/C is off. How can I test the ISC?

 

One of the local evo guys helped my friend test the ISC, he took it out and checked the resistance with a multi meter and it wasnt in the correct parameters. Im not sure the exact numbers, you could pm him on here his screen name is gear head. He is way helpful.

 

I have the FSM up right looking through it, if that does not help I'll hit him up. Thanks alot.

 

OK, fixed the problem. After all it was a cheap fix. I took an unhooked the battery, all the connectors in the car and used crc electrical contact cleaner to clean all of them. Car idles like it should again. Guess it was bad contact on the ISC connector. CRC ftw!!

 

I thought it would be the bov if u had the vta set up? haha i was wayy out of the league lol
