Mishimoto Slimline Fan Install

I hadn't got a multimeter out to check yet, but I figured that box was a relay and using its output instead of removing it would make the new slim fan mimic the operation of the stock fan, being it would come on when needed based on coolant temp, and also when defroster is on.. so that's pretty much what you're seeing with that configuration STLEVOIX?

Correct. Another way to do it is to use and aftermarket thermostat. If you go that, you can then adjust the controller manually for whatever temp you want the fan to come on at. Since I did this to get more clearance for the turbo and lose a bit of weight, I just hooked it up to the existing connection. It was simply plug n play, didn't get much easier than that.
