Problem with boost gauge install

I installed the Prosport digital boost gauge. After the install was complete, I started up the car. The gauge powered on and did its startup. -15 was displayed on the gauge and it would not move off that reading. No other vacuum readings and absolutely no boost readings. I doubled and triple checked all the connections and could not see a problem. Anyone have any suggestions on what the problem could be?

Do you see any boost while driving? You won't see any boost on idle.

I have it in the fuel pressure regulator line....tried it at the BOV but nothing changed. I'm starting to think the gauge itself is the problem

+1 Do tell, when you receive the answers. mines just started to have problems a few days ago. The boost gauges will sweep on ignition then remain still on or off boost. At times I will occasionally see it hiccup -10 off boost . wierd.

+1 I had the issue from day 1 and could never find the answer. same thing did the vaccuum line to the fpr but never tried to bov.

I was thinking of buying another one or thought it was the electrical sender until i read this! so definitely going for another boost gauge.

I have a similar issue. Prospport was nice enough to send me a new one after I sent them mine. Same issue. Mine occurs after every autox run only. I pit back in and when I shut the car off and start it back up for the next run, the needle gets stuck at the 0 point for about a few minutes, then works again. I have no boost leaks and ONLY occurs during autox events. Never street driving. Its almost like the paint on the needle is getting hot and causing a sticky needle, idk. Im kind of disapointed with that. I have my gauge tapped into the fpr vacuum line and even upgraded to STMs silicone Hd vacuum lines w/ zip tied lines to secure them. When I try to duplicate this issue with the gauge on my mighty vac it wont do it, go figure.

I have an update on my prosport boost gauge as well.. First time testing this gauge out on a road course and it worked flawlessly. It wasnt very hot, about mid 60s out that day though, so ambient and engine bay temps werent as high as they could be if it was hotter out. My theory is still that excessive heat causes the paint on the needle to get soft enough to start sticking.

I agree about the excessive heat, but I don't think it has nothing to do with the needle sticking. -as far as on my car. I have the sender right on my firewall (* I installed the sender right above the intake manifold.) I think my sender is expressing heat soak. IDK but updates right HOW to intall: for the Prosport
