help!!!tie rods

how would i know if either my inner or outer tie rod is bad,,, thanks for the help

I would explain it but its easier to look up Tie Rod on youtube

heres how I check it. if you can manually move your outer by hand it needs to be replaced. if you take the outer off and the inner just falls to the ground it needs to be replaced.
below is a link to inner replacement. theres a little washer between it and the rack that locks it in you need to straighten it out to get it loose

Grab the outter tierod where it connects to the hub, and while touching the hub and tierod with one hand have someone shake the wheel back and forth. You should be able to tell if there is play right there.

Just tug on the wheel and if it has play. Usually the tie rod ends go out before the Inners.
