AEM Wideband install
When you install the AEM wideband, is it a separate gauge system? or does the wideband 02 sensor plug directly into the stock wiring and then the gauge splices into the ECU wiring.....
Reason being is that I need a new O2 sensor..... and Im going to buy a wideband gauge.... I was thinking I could swap it out....
or worse case scenario, I have to buy both.. lol

in my case, i welded a new bung on my down pipe and put my wideband there. I also ran the signal wire from the aem gauge to pin 75 on the ecu which is the rear o2 signal (you need to run the rear o2 simulator for this). Now i can log my wideband with evoscan through the ecu

Does one still need the Evo IX ECU pins to do this? It says Jack of Trades has the only pins in the world but there hasn't been a post on his page since Dec 2008 so it makes me think there is an alternative?

The Aem wideband comes with a bung for mounting it in the down pipe. Its a very easy install. I did it along with my boost in under an hour. Close to where the down pipe and cat or if your running a straight pipe there is a rubber groumet on the passenger side. Take a flat head driver and pop it out. and after the supplied bung has been welded into the DP. put the sensor in. But the sensor side of it is to big to fit through the hole. So the wire that goes into the back of the gauge will have to come through it. And then your set to go. I just wrapped mine in eletrical tape to prevent moisture and bascially on the road. (wet)

you can remove your rear o2. put the aem in that bung install the gauge and run cable from the aem sensor to that gauge. then you run the white wire from the gauge to pin 71 on your ecu. (double check the pin, may be 73) add some xml in evoscan and you can now log your new sensor without any other messy cable set up. must disable the rear o2 in ecuflash so you dont have an annoying check engine light.
