I have just finished putting in my ACT HD 6 puck unsprung clutch in. Took me about a week working on it on and off since Evo is not my daily. On jack stands its no fun but definitely a good learning experience. I did not drop the subframe at all and Taking out and putting back the transmission back was a *****. Its doable with few jacks, one under the motor for the right angle, other under the tranny. I did unbolt the front motor mount bracket from the tranny for a little more room.
I have tried to release the TOB first but after a few tries I just unbolted the PP through inspection hole.
I won't do another clutch on jack stands by myself though, im over it
Good luck to everyone attempting it. Its not that bad.

Surprisingly, feels really good. Im very happy with the choice. Drivability is slightly different but you get used to it within 30 min or so. Engagement is nice and precise. Very little chatter. I do not feel any increased vibration due to it being unsprung. Lets see how it holds up.

I HAD the ACT 6 Unsprung from 17,000 - 26,000 miles. It was a royal pain for daily driving, it chattered like crazy until it was fully bedded in, and once it was, it took immense control to feel anything like a daily clutch. Not to mentioned, the throw out bearing let go somehow one time and didn't disengage the clutch. Also, it is very hard on the components of the driveline.

YES, it engaged like a bat out of hell, but it took 45lb to depress, and was worn out after those 9k miles somehow. Not as in it was gone, but the pucks had chipped, and was about to start making contact with the rivets.

I have had the ACT Stage 2 Street disk ever since, and have 111,578 right now. Have done many launches (in its new days) about 20 I'd say, and it has held up surprisingly well.

If I did it now, I would only buy the best. Go for a big dog dual street disk IMO.
I know I will.
Just my 2cents.

I just finished doing my clutch on my garage floor with the car on jack stands, it was a pain to get the tranny out without removing the sub frame, to get it in I setup the tyranny inside the car and lowered the front end of the car to line up the engine with the tranny, put assembly lube of the clutch splines and shaft of tranny and it slid right in luckily, wiggled it to get the guide pins lined up a voala, I guess I got lucky lol I have slight clutch chatter getting outta first and second with an exedy sprung street disc but it's slowly going away as I put miles on the disc so well see what happens (currently have 130 miles on disc)
