how to replace stock air intake box with K&N air filter on EVO IV

Hello does anyone here know how to take off the stock air intake box on a evo iv ? im trying to replace it with a k and n cone filter any help would be much appreciated thanks,

To fit a cone filter onto the stock intake piping you will need a cone filter adapter that bolts to your MAF housing. I have one that I have not used yet if you would like it. $20 plus shipping. As for removing the airbox:

Remove the air filter.
Unbolt the engine side of the airbox from the MAF housing. 4 bolts.
Unbolt the vehicle side of the airbox from the chassis. 3 bolts.
Attach the filter adapter to the MAF housing, reusing the 4 original bolts.
Attach the cone filter to the filter adapter.

OP - how was it? did you have any check engine light problems after the install?
