Installing AMS oil pan and MAP O2 dump (pics)

Ok, so I decided to install my new ams oil pan and map o2 dump, so I can post some pics of the process. First of all I removed all the parts to remove the oem oil pan.

after that removing oem baffle plates and oil pick up tube, cause you getting the new ones with your new oil pan (you can see cosworth on my pics, putted it on few years ago)

here you can see the hardware you get from AMS

so now Im starting to put, all the new hardware on, to check is everything work good, first I putted all new oil baffles and pick up tube

after that I tried to put oil pan, as I can say you, its not so easy to put it on oil pick up tube, but I maded it, but there was one problem, oil pan was swing on something, so I putted it on and off maybe 5 times to chech where is problem and I found, so the problem is in the pic

now it looks like that after I cutted and a polirated a little bit

after I removed that small corner, everything works great and there is no very thin space between block and oil pan, maybe I get newer version of oil pan (somebody told me AMS maded newer version) cause there is no AMS logo on it

everything is not bad, so putting the oil pan on with silicone

everything screwed

next step to put on turbo with MAP O2 dump, and here is some problems, cause they dont work together, O2 dump, hiting the oil pan, and there is no posibilities to screw turbo to manifold, next photos will be with solution I maded to work them together, yes, you need to cut dump pipe and reweld it, so here you can see how it to do

now after rewelding and polirating

and everythin works good, space for downpipe, space for radiator, space for a/c hose, everything works

and I maded it a little bit longer, cause I want to use some splitter, so I cut a hole on it and after that cut some piece of dump pipe.

Any issues with the oil pan leaking? My buddy has one that seams to leak no matter what he does to address it.

Thumbs down for an oil pan for an Evo that has to be modified to work on the car it was designed for.

While I do agree with you. Alot of people's setups are different. I guess they didn't use MA's o2 dump during R&D :/

Looks good man!

This pan was designed by Moroso a LONG time ago, before o2 dumps came into popularity. The kickout on the front has been a clearance issue before... It will clear MOST t3 setups, as well as any stock appearing setup that doesnt have a large dump tube. Pretty sure MAP didn't design their o2 housing around the AMS pan.

my interpretation of this comment was in reference to having to trim the corner of the baffle to get the pan to sit flush on the block. I would hate to pay that much money for something and then have to modify it. Also that is probably why that one post above mentioned a leaking pan, because if you didn't modify the pan, then it will leak.

You are correct. I was referring to the modifications to the baffle to make it work.
