Evo 8 Trans felt bushing question on fork

If someones done this, help appreciated.

I just received my felt bushings which go on the fork in the trans, and these preloaded springs go on top (as seen here http://www.evomoto.com/article_image.../step_425.jpeg

My issue is, that in order for the felt bushings to fit inside the preloaded spring, i have to open the spring up a little because its so tight. Once i get it inside, i can put any load on the spring at all, because the bushing is inside so it gives it no room to compress....

it doesn't go in the spring it goes like this
[bracket [spring [felt bushing [fork] felt bushing] spring] bracket]
the bushings are used keep the springs from "rubbing" in the fork.

makes sense. ok i think the dealership gave me the wrong part.

my "felt bushing" is basically a hollow cylinder that allows the piston that holds the springs to go through it. In the picture it seems like its a washer made out of felt material? correct?

can i make this out of something. Cause i waited 3 weeks for this part from the dealer, and apparently it isnt even correct, and they are nothing but MORONS over there.

I don't see why you couldn't make them imo. Just get something about 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch thick.

maybe a little ghetto, but could i use "http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/heavy-duty-felt-pads-1-x-3-3-4-25-x-95mm/6000016942769"

and just make a felt washer/bushing? seems thats all it does.. prevent rubbing as you said..

and i'd like to know, "what the hell are these bushings that the dealer supplied me with after showing them exactly what it is i wanted from a "PICTURE" lol"

Idk what that picture is lol, nothing goes inside the spring.

Its just a felt washer that the pin slides through, spaces the spring from the fork.

That goes into the cylinder of the clutch fork, one goes on each side.

kinda confused about what you mean to be honest.
If what you're talking about is putting these little bushings that i posted inside the clutch fork?, that wouldn't work. I dont think.

I'll try soon when i get the chance.

But if you don't mind, could you edit the picture above and point to where i should install this?

I'll keep you guys posted on my progress on how things are working out. I did get my hands on some heavy duty felt and i'm cutting out the bushings(which should be called washer's imo).

thanks for all the info

The pic you posted aren't "felt bushings", you got the wrong part. The pic you attached "clutch fork bushings" slides into the fork cylinder, where you slide the shaft rod. If you look in the clutch fork circles, you'll see those bushings. The "felt pads" are exactly that, felt material. I'll edit the pic in a few hours, sorry replying from phone.

The blue circled is clutch fork bushings which I described in previous post. On your evomoto pic, you won't see this because it's inside the cylinder of the clutch fork.
The felt pad, which you see on the evomoto link is circled in orange

This blue section is where you slide the clutch fork bushings, actually inside the cylinder itself, have to remove the old one. You'll see a "split" in the metal, I just used a screwdriver and bent the metal and it dropped out. To put the new ones in, I just used a socket, lined it up and lightly tapped to reseat them.

Awesome, thanks for the confirmation.

I just finished cutting out the felt washers out of heavy duty felt material i got from work, and the metal bushings might already be inside my clutch for cylinder, i'll just have to double check in few hours when i go put everything together again.

Thanks for the info again and ill post back as soon as im done putting everything back together.
