Removing evo 8 front bumper mesh

Anyone have experience with removing the front bumper mesh without breaking the rusted studs. If you have removed the grill and the studs are broken how did you repair the issue? Body shop states that there is no way to attach the mesh if the studs snap off.

Sorry for the revive, but I just removed mine days ago for bumper painting.

Didn't broke any bolt heads, but I removed the bumper metal frame where the bolts are attached to. On the back of the frames you will see the bottom side of the bolt or its stud protruding. So if you broke the bolt head, you can vice grip the exposed stud since the OEM bolts are long. Maybe Mitsu wanted it to be long just in case, since rusting on the mesh bolts is very common on these cars. I just bought myself new oem bolts to replace the old ones. Oh, and its a very good idea to put anti seize on them.

Can also use like a household dremel to cut the head of the bolts off then when you get the mesh off use the vise grips to remove the inbedded bolt without hurting the mesh, that stuff is very fragile.
