Cool Mellon Tuning - BR Stage 3 Cylinder Head /ForcedPerformance*GSC*Kelford*Camshafts

Buschur Racing Stage 3 Cylinder Head



Standard assembly includes:
- Custom BR dual stainless steel valve springs
- BR titanium retainers
- New Valve Seals
- BR stainless .5mm over intake valves
- BR stainless .5mm over exhaust valves
- Stainless Oring around each combustion chamber
- Complete port & polish job
- Stainless Steel O-Ring

* New Bronze Valve Guides are additional

* Add Inconel Exhaust Valves instead of S.S.

* New Valve Seats

Instead of throwing around flow bench numbers that can't be compared to other flow benches anyway, we're going to list our percentage gains at 5 valve lift positions vs our stock baseline flow numbers:

Lift at the valve / Intake % / Exhaust %.
100" / +27% I / +10% E
200" / +19% I / +10% E
300" / +14% I / +19% E
400" / +19% I / +23% E
500" / +20% I / +29% E

All ports were flowed on their own at 28inches, without intake or exhaust tubing. It is important to not just look at someone's advertised flow ratings,
because CFM ratings don't mean anything unless they are from the same head,
on the same bench, with the same operator, under the same conditions.
That is why we are showing you the improvements we have made rather than just quoting you some b.s. number in an attempt to win your business.

NO GIMMICKS HERE! This is the SAME head that is used on the Mellon Tuning Evo , and also was used on the 8sec black drag Evo as well as David's personal street driven Evo that went 9.0 and EVERY high hp fast Evo .

Buschur Racing BF272 Evo 8 Camshafts





Just released.... The ultimate in EVO camshafts. This new custom grind from Buschur Racing has proven itself to make the most power of any camshaft we have tested to date in the EVO.
We've had these cams custom ground and are glad we can offer them at a reasonable price to our customers.

These camshafts are recommend for GT30 series turbos or larger and will require a spring and retainer kit to support them. (sold seperately)

PLEASE NOTE: We really do not recommend to use these cams with the stock shortblock for your added safety.
Its possible that the valves could hit the pistons. It all depends on your valve spring combination and RPM.

Evo 8 Forced Perfomance Camshafts





Forced Performance 4R Evo 8 Cams


Designed around factory valvetrain and piston clearance limitations.
Increase in mid and upper RPM power.
Can be used with factory valve springs and retainers to 8K rev limit,
but FP beehive
spring kit recommended.
Can be used with factory pistons.
Somewhat lumpy idle.
Recommend increasing idle RPM to ~1000RPM.

Forced Performance 5R Evo 8 Cams

Spring upgrade required, will not work with factory retainers.
Must check for coil bind.
11K RPM capable with good springs.
Further increase in upper RPM power.
Intended for use with 65+ lb/min turbos.
Works well with header equipped engines.
Not intended for use with factory pistons.
While most aftermarket pistons allow for adequate piston to valve
clearance, checking
clearance is highly recommended, especially with oversize valves.
Choppy idle. Recommend increasing idle RPM to ~1200RPM.

Evo 9 Forced Performance Camshafts




Forced Performance 4R Evo 9 Cams

The FP4R camshafts are ground on only the highest quality blanks with generous radius for the oil grooves for max strength and durability.
There have been ZERO failures of the FP4R EVO9 MIVEC camshaft. To date, 4/27/10, ZERO FP EVO9 camshafts have broken.

The FP4R grinds for the EVO9 are designed around the factory valvetrain and piston clearance limitations and have .440" lift.
This means that this grind is completely compatible with the stock engine with stock retainers, guides, seals, valves etc and can be dropped into an otherwise stock engine with great results.
The grind can be safely operated beyond the stock redline to 8krpm with the stock springs in place, and operated to 9krpm with the recommended FP Beehive springs.
This grind gives good clearance with the factory EVO9 pistons at all locations of MIVEC advance or retard.
There is a slight decrease in idle vacuum, and a slight increase in idle RPM may be required but good idle below 1000rpm is typical.

Forced Performance 5R Evo 9 Cams

The FP5R camshaft grinds require a spring upgrade, it is not possible to use the factory retainers or springs due to the increase in the lift to .475" with this grind.
Installer must check for coil-bind and retainer/seal contact during assembly. While most aftermarket pistons allow for adequate piston to valve clearance, checking this clearance is highly recommended in ever case, this need is even greater when using oversize valves.
Like the 4R grind, the larger 5R grind is very well suited to high RPM operation and is capable of 11krpm with the proper spring setup. The FP5R gives a further increase in upper RPM power over the 4R grind and turbo selection should reflect this extra upper RPM capacity.

GSC Evo 8 Camshafts


GSC S1 Evo 8 Camshafts

The S1 cams are designed for those with the stock turbo up to the GT30, 50Trim/Green, Red, Black, BBK.
These cams will not sacrifice any bottom end loss over stock cams; nothing but gains and will promote faster spooling of the upgraded turbos.
Gains of 30-55whp (depending on Turbo) have been seen by simply bolting the S1 cams in. Designed for a rev range of 3000-8000rpms, these cams work well on the stock valve springs. 300-450whp camshaft.
Idle is slightly rougher than stock. S1 Specs (part # gsc-6008S1) Intake 268 Duration 10.50mm peak lift, 107 degree Centerline Exhaust 266 Duration 10.50mm Peak Lift, 113 degree Centerline.

GSC S2 Evo 8 Camshafts

The S2 cams are designed for those with a GT35R-GT4067 Turbo. No low end power is lost vs the stock cams when used with the larger turbo.
The S2 cams will show gains of 50-70whp over the stock cams and in some cases more in the higher RPMS. Great for 2.0L engines revving to 9000rpms or for Stroker motors revving to 8000rpms.
The S2 Cams require upgraded valve springs (check out GSC's Chro-Molly Retainers and single valve spring kit for a perfect upgrade to your valve train). Designed for a rev range of 4000-9000 RPMS(2.0L or 3000-8000 2.2L+), 500-700whp applications.
GSC doesn't suggest running these on smaller stock appearing turbo setups but we've seen gains over the S1 with these. S2 cams can run on Factory ECU with custom flashing.

The S3 Cams are a Hydraulic Lifter Cam for the Evo 4-8 4G63. These cams are designed for 700whp+ to take advantage of a very large turbo with a lot of flow capability!
