Knob Comparison

Ok guys...I've snapped some quick pics that detail some of the differences between the ARC knob, the OEM knob, and our knob.

Check em out:

This is the OEM shift knob:

It has an OD of 47mm (in the pic it shows 48mm but the leather squishes down to 47mm)

Here is the ARC knob:

OD of 44mm

Here is the ASpec knob:

OD of 46mm

And here is all of them together (from L to R - ARC, A Spec, OEM):

As you can see, our knob is slightly larger than the ARC knob but enough for your to feel the difference. Trust me...it's a BIG difference.

Regards,

Francis@aspec

Very nice Francis. I just have to ask if there is any way for you to make one around the same weight as the Greddy knob I have. I think the Greddy is around 13.5 ounces.

Thank you for the kind words!

Well, theoretically we could make a knob that is the same weight as the Greddy one but honestly we would need to make about 300 of them at one time. Maybe if we had a large enough demand for them, we could do it for the next batch of knobs. We'll see what happens...

Wow superfast shipping got it the next day living in cali helps...

Anyways got to say this knob was better then expected, its much heavier then stock, I thought when installing that it was going to sit higher then the boot, but after screwing it in all the way it fits PERFECT!!! no gap between the boot and knob...

It looks awesome !!! And the added weight makes my shifts smoother if that makes any sense...

Thanks ASPEC !

Well, there is a bit of a problem with the bulb knob as it doesn't fit with the stock shift boot.

There is a collar holding the boot up and stops the bulb knob from being screwed in all the way. We're attempting to modify the stock shift boot by removing the collar. As soon as we do that, I'll post pics.

how did you modify your boot? did you "destroy" it by modifying it?

Well, you can mod the boot by removing the grommet that holds the top of the boot up. It's not that hard but it's a bit of a PITA.

At least on the Evo its possible to fit the bulb. Other applications aren't as lucky because the shifter itself is tapered such that the bulb won't fit w/o major modification.
