Although the ARC piece is lighter (albeit by ounces), you won't be getting much performance out of it if you're looking to trim the Evo down.
Then again, I don't think that is what that piece is for.
Asthetic value shoots through the roof with this piece and I think that is the aim of the heat sheild. Some really enjoy having a clean, dressed up engine bay and I figure why not do it with some high quality JDM bling.
IMO, if you're looking to save weight, do it with wheels or something. CE28's FTW!

If you want to save weight, run without a heat shield and powerdercoat or high temp spray the manifold, el dente! Always wondered, but ARC is jdm, but they use the italian flag. what gives?

WTF? over a month and on one's posted crap along the lines of "it's not worth the money, get an mbc for like $3 and make you own turbo back for 10 buck!!!! arrrrgh you are not allowed to spend money that belongs to you arrrrrgh!!!!! 4203whp/$ or you're just a JDM fanboy and I'm so incredibly intelligent with my money and I run 8sec 1/4 mile and i don't even have door handles...."
amazing....
Nice parts though. I'm prolly going to get ARC bits once I get my ic.

You brought up a good point...which, I'm happy to say makes me a bit proud of Evo owners.
People understand quality, fit and finish and are willing to pay a little extra for good parts. Something that we dont really get in other automotive communities.... which shall remain nameless
As far as why they use the Italian flag....your guess is as good as mine
