i just bought mine and got them in the mail today. well is it suppost to be hard to push together? i pulled them out to see if it would contract as if it were to be closed but nothing.

yes its suppose to be hard to push with your hands. But if you install them, the hood should close with an ease

make sure you install it correctly tho.. the detail of how these dampeners should be installed is on the thread

Do these lift on the hood as soon as you release the latch, or do you have to lift the hood halfway before they take over and lift it the rest of the way?

you would need to lift the hood 1/3 of way before the dampers take over.
