Give it a bump.
1. Yes its more then fine for it to be on a carbon hood. First make sure you do this.
a. Cycle the hood struts a couple times. The more the better as if you just put it on and try to shut it for the first time it will crack the hood.
b. Put it on with your stock hood first then try it out for fitment. Then detach the hood and swap it in with your carbon.
2. Ive had mine on there for almost 6 months and its working perfect.
