Jettison that prop rod! Hood struts in stock!

Am I the only one who HATES hood props? Every time I try to work on my car, I'm constantly having to work around it, I'm bumping into it, and I'm paranoid I'm going to pop it loose and crush my head under my hood. (I know, the Evo hood is really light. But still...)

These hood struts do away with all that.

One of the best mods I've done to my car. Makes underhood work much easier. My hood also weighs about 40 lbs more than an Evo hood, so they are almost a necessity.

I really love 'em. Prop rods annoy me.

But how much weight do they add? This takes away from the race prepped cred of the Evo.

j/k. Really nice mod, looking foward to having them.

The struts probably weigh half a pound each. If that. Don't think you have anything to worry about adding weight. Don't eat for a day to make up the weight.

The entire kit weighs 1.5 pounds. Subtract maybe 8 ounces for your stock prop rod, and you're at a net gain of 1.0 pound. Toss a few CD's out of the car, and you're even.
