Hello;
I bought the IX cam gear cover and spark plug cover not too long ago. Received the products and very impressed by the quality of the weave and everything, but a few issues:

- IX cam gear cover doesn't fit right on my car.
It is NOT rocket science to install the cam gear cover...the stocker slides right in, nice and smooth....but the Titek CF product just would NOT fit on mine. Maybe I got a bad one or something. Took extreme care but the bottom portion of the cover kept rubbing against the metal piece of the engine-mount closest to it. Now it's all scratched up (on the bottom) and won't go on right.

What's the process for me to send it off to get a replacement or such? Thx.

I got the same pieces from Titek and ran into the same issue. The cam gear cover will fit but you need to jack the engine up about an inch to relieve pressure from the engine mount (the part that was scatching you cover). I got my floor jack and jacked the engine up slowly until I had just enough clearance to slide the new cam gear cover on. You'll also need to removed that hose that is bolted onto the engine mount's mount. After all that, it will be no problem in installing your cover. Hope this helps.

^^
Hmmm...thought about doing that, but after seeing how easily the stocker slipped on, didn't think it'd be necessary. Did remove the hose from the mount though!

Won't it hella scratch up anyways once I release the jack to lower the engine back down? I'll give that a try later today...thx.

Nope, its because the Titek cover isn't flexible like the OEM one. After it was installed the scratches were hidden by the mount. Could always cover up the scratches with a Sharpie before you get yours on.

Hey, what jack-point did you use to lift up the engine? Had the IX on a lift to get the exhaust re-welded/fitted (JDM rear bumper) and was looking underneath the engine for one...did you remove that black bar directly below the motor-mount under the car and lift it from their?

PM me so we don't cluster this thread up...thx.

No I didn't use any jack point and I didn't remove a black bar. I just looked for an area that I new wouldn't be damaged and lifted it from there. I'll see if I can post up a pic later of the location that I used.

The senator - thank you for the help! really really appreciated!

Lgkaos - please keep me updated and if you have more questions, please don't hesitate to pm me! Again, thank you for the patience and support. If there's any issues, I will take care of it for you.

jhanksevo - as far as I know, these are wet carbon. 1x1 jdm cf weaves.

Thank you!

Calvin

Holy crap that took longer to install than needed! Got it on there, lifted up the engine a little bit and managed to finagle it on. The upper right hand section chipped a bit...and I couldn't quiet one of the bolts on the bottom to align perfectly. But it's on there and looking pretty. Matches the RalliArt hood weave very well!

Thx!
Setup so far...hope you enjoy:
