Price seems a little high, maybe we can get a group buy going for this part as it seems to have sparked some interest?

Anybody else in?

I just got a hold of Weapon R... unfortunately, they do not have this bracket...

We have been running the damper on our EVO 8 with no problems!

I just got confirmation from Weapon R that this will work on regular Lancers. Sweet!!!

Got mine from Ups today.....

let me start by thanking prostreetonline for fast shipping & keeping me up to date on the progress of my order as well a a fair price for the unit. i would not hesitate to pruchase from them in the future

this is just a preliminary observation... i have not yet installed the product

the whole assembly ships in a plastic bag (boxed for shipment via UPS) & even though the 2 major mounts are wrapped in a thin plastic, my dampner has a few scratches on the finish & sticker from bouncing around in shipment

this is not a true "dampner" as one might think, fluid filled, using displacement or friction to slow movement but not limit it (within operating limits)

this is more of a motor mount as it uses rubber to limit movement & rubber has a way of storing the energy in a spring like fasion. limiting movement, but not slowing it

the "dampner" is well built, solid feeling & very resistant to any movement, even under my full weight i couldn't move it more than 1/4" in

this doesnt mean it wont work, nor is it meant to bash the product, just that the name may be a bit misleading to some (like myself)

now to install it & check the results

I installed it this morning. Easy install. Just make sure that if you install this with the stock strut bar put the hext nut on top and the cap nut on the bottom or it won't clear. The product kicks ***. A lot less engine vibration, movement. Usually when I look at the engine during shutdown it vibrates and shakes back an forth quite a bit. Now it's nice a solid. Shifts are smoother. And I noticed less vibration noise from other places I had it. But this damper sort of creatd it's own slight rattling. Nothing bad at all though. I would suggest plastic washers on each side of the brackets before mounting the damper to them. This will reduce in movement, rattling. All in all it works ! !

Did you notice any vibrations transferred to the car body?

I said before that using plastic washers would help in the slight rattling of the damper. I tried rubber washers and this works much better. This thing realy works. I used to have major engine vibration at high RPMs. Almost sounded like the DP was rattling, vibrating, hitting against the oil pan. Not anymore.

I can see this working because if you guys ever get on a dyno and watch the engine rock backwards towards the firewall at WOT, you'll understand that this should work.
