Engine Dampner for your EVO 8

Hey Alex i want to buy one, one of my friends here locally has it and said its awesome. He also told me he used to get wheel hop in the front diff since he has a lot of power. he said that after installing it, he only gets wheel hop in the rear and not in the front which is the main concern for all Evo owners. So, does this dampner help with wheel hop also? Thanks

EVIL EVO - This damper helps more with engine movement than it does with wheel hop. If his wheel hop before was due to engine movement, then this would help. This damper is designed to keep the engine in place during hard shifts, and to keep shifting smooth by keeping everything aligned and set.

Honestly, it's not that complicated especially when I got a car already equiped w/ one as a model.
There's only 3 adjustment points, the strut tower ring, the damper itself, and the mounting plate attachment to the motor. All 3 points of adjustment were maxed out and the damper unit appear to be about 1/8" too long.

We've recieved 3 calls so far regarding the damper being "too long", and we're working to see why this has occured, when dozens of other people haven't had this issue. For those of you running into this problem, I want to know what year your car's are, and what trim. There could be a few situations here, either the clearances changed slightly through the years, or this most recent batch of dampers we received from the factory were out of tolerance. If you are one of the people with this issue, please email me privately so I know who to contact when the problem is resolved.
Also, while researching this problem, I noticed a slight error on the prostreetonline install write up. In the picture, it shows the damper end being mounted on the top side of the strut tower bar, this is incorrect. The damper must be mounted on the bottom side of the bracket. This is the most likely reason people are having installing the damper with a stock strut tower bar. As many of you have realized also, the the A/C line bracket must be taken off, flipped upside down, and remounted to position the line lower, and clear of the damper.
Any other questions can be directed to me here.

The pricing is correct, we had to increase all of our prices up to 30% because of sharply rising materials cost. We're paying through the nose for our aluminum and stainless steel. If it's any incentive, our EVO damper kits will be including a second strut plate for the driver side in the coming new year. The price of $180 is still pretty cheap if you compare to companies like HPA and 5Zigen that sell their dampers for $300 upwards.
