Hey there, I'm looking to get into the 600-650 whp range with a fairly good torque curve and i was wondering about the gt35/40r. I've been looking at this kit for a long time now and was wondering if you've done any comparisons between these kits and the AMS or RNR kits?

The gt35/40r is definately capable of getting you to that 600 whp point. The gt35/40r has great spool up and a fairly broad torque curve. I do not have or know of any direct comparisions between this setup and any others at this time.

Thanks,
Dave

Would you say one can pick up 50whp or more on 94 going from the stock turbo (and my mods) to the gt3071r? Are you calling this turbo 450hp at the crank? What psi would you run this turbo at with 94 and c16. Thanks -Wayne

What does the kit come with and do I need to upgrade the manifolds? If I have a catback exhaust do I need to buy additional dp? Please list the necessary mods that I need in order for this turbo to work on a stock Evo. Thanks!

The kit comes with everything you need for isntallation of a big turbo minus the manifold. Everything is designed to be bolted right on to your stock manifold. We can supply a ported manifold for additional hp gains.

If you plan on making big hp you will nedd to upgrade the fuel system with bigger injectors, fuel pump and some sort of engine management.

The Borla header works pretty well, only if you have an upgraded turbo. We have seen decreases using it on a stock turbo.

wHAT TURBO?

What turbo with a 2.3L stroker would give same spool up?
I have a 2.3L tomei cammed engine
I would like 400HP at the wheels (about 480-500crank?) and quick spoolup

I am prepared to sacrifice some top end HP for increased response.

Same spoll up as what? A stock turbo, in that case nothing really. The stock turbo spools very quickly. The 3071r is about the best all around turbo we have seen.

Really?
A larger capacity engine would not spool quicker then a lower capacity engine on the same turbo?
it stands to reason that a larger capacity engine can use a larger turbo and spool similar to a stock turbo on a stock capacity right otherwise why have larger capacity?

May be close to stock spool, but it is pretty difficult to beat.
