Redesigned Buschur Racing deluxe FMIC's for EVO8 and 9's
Hi guys,
Well we have been trying to figure out how to make our intercoolers easier to install and eliminate coupling tears wth the loose EVO engine mounts.
Actually the only intercooler we offer that has any of these troubles is our original Deluxe I/C that was designed back in March-April of 2003.
I took my RS apart and layed it all out again. The lower i/c pipe that bolts to the compressor housing is all 100% mandrel bent SS 2" tubing now and runs into a 2.25" inlet to the intercooler. Between this outlet pipe and the intercooler the new design is two piece which allows it to move around without tearing the couplings and makes installation a breeze.
The lower i/c pipe is still the shortest available. The undertray either needs trimmed to be reinstalled or eliminated as always. We dropped the intercooler to provide more air movement through the core.
Anyway, the newly designed Deluxe FMIC's are done. We have been shipping them this way for a few weeks actually.
We are going to try to move a bunch of these over the next few weeks. They are normally priced at $750 plus $40-$50 for shipping. Bringing the total to close to $800.
For now anyone interested in a very good deal we will be offering them for $675 including the shipping!
Just give us a call. Make sure to specify if you have an EVO8 turbo or an EVO9 turbo as we have kits for both cars now!!

Never had my deluxe intercooler coupling tear.. I make sure Theres a bit of play with the coupling..
The only thing that I thought needed a little tweaking was the way the lower intercooler piping sat so close to the wastegate actuator ,so people trying to tighten it flush to the turbo were getting leaks because it wouldnt sit flush as the wastegate was keeping it at an angle..
I put washers on my actuator works like a charm, maybe you guys tweaked this already but thats the only issue I had but read on it and prevented it...
Good job on the redesign...

The Deluxe FMIC comes with complete lower intercooler plumbing from the turbo to the intercooler and couplings. This is the shortest routing of any intercooler on the market.
The issues with the lower i/c pipe is solved. I completely re-did that lower pipe so there is plenty of room all the way around it now, fits like a glove.

So the I/C comes with the LICP for only $675 shipped? That's a great deal! Will I need to modify the lower tray, or anything else, for it to fit properly?

The only question I have is when we order a 20g-9. will you supply a turbo outlet that will work for the "original" design deluxe fmic? I bought mine when you had that last sale on your fmic's...
