ASK me how I know this??? Because in Dec 17th i was running my stock turbo evo down the 1/4 with 380 whp and no matter how hard i tried i could not get the clutch to slip. I had the tires aired down and I would either hook up and bog, or spin all through 1st gear. i finally squeezed a mediocre 1.77 60ft and ran 11.9@117. On my 8th pass I went to launch it again and the gearset literally exploded and blew my bellhousing into 3 pieces. This bent my shifter cables, my input shaft broke, it was nuts. you could pop the hood and see right through the bellhousing and see the purple from the pressure plate. THIS HAPPENED ON THE EXEDY TRIPLE!!!
WHEN ALL WAS SAID AND DONE, THE CLUTCH WAS FINE EXCEPT FOR THE DISC CLOSEST TO THE FLYWHEEL. SINCE THE INPUT SHAFT BROKE AND ENDED UP ON AN ANGLE, IT SOMEHOW SHEERED THE TEETH OFF OF THE DISC. OTHER THEN THAT, THE CLUTCH WAS PERFECT!!!
