How big is the Tanabe Concept G BLUE TBE ? The other Tanable dp you list is - Design: 2.75 inch. Is the Concept G Blue 2.75 also or is it 3 inch ? If it is 2.75 can the Dp/Test pipe be swapped for different 3 inch one ? I looked on the site but no info is provided.

hukster00 - The downpipe with the Concept G Blue system is a 2.75" unit. Since the system is sold as a complete kit we can't swap it out for a different downpipe. I would recommend picking a catback you like and adding the Helix downpipe/testpipe combo for $299 :-D

Hmm, Now I am confused. Tanabe says the piping is 80mm. There was a test also in turbo magazine referenced in this thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=178182 and the piping is listed as 77-80mm. I've never seen 2.75 (approx 70 mm) referenced anywhere. Are you sure on this? Where's the Tanabe USA guy?

SilverMRGrl - Watch for updates on the threads.

lbcevo - During sales we post the sale prices on our website so that it makes it easy for everyone to order via our website but once the sale ends we change the pricing back to regular price.

coffeeslug - The downpipe is 70 mm and the catback is 80 mm.

Thanks,
Gruppe-S

Why would the WRX's Concept G Blue have an 80mm downpipe, and the Evo have a 70mm? http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts/files/237_img2.jpg

There is no real reasoning behind it, besides that Tanabe believed 70mm is the way to go for the Evo Downpipes.

Mark

Hey, I talked to the manufacturer and the DP is indeed 70mm. Mark, you speak the truth! Sorry for doubting, just wanted to be certain. Exhaust is still plenty for my flow needs. Thanks for answering that Q.

Regards,
Mark

well the reason is cuz of the stock turbo. I remember reading somewhere on here and turbo mag that 2.75in downpipe would be PERFECT for the stock turbo. It flows enought for the stock turbo. They said something about 3in would overflow the backpresure. Ive always wonder as well cuz i know thats the same thing they do with VW turbobacks the dp is 2.75 and the rest is 3in. I mena it seems local but idk. OBTW im getting my money ready to drop some cash on some of these parts. Also i was thinking aboutgetting the Heix DP with a Tanbe grand touring exhuast.

coffeeslug - No problem, anytime.

Soon 2 B EVIL - You may be right, that very well may be the case. Helix DP for Evo are low in stock but still are a few left so give us a call. 510-783-5300.

Thanks,
Greg
