Excuse my ignorance, but how are 3mm big bore lifters a direct replacement? I would think machining wourd be required.

The hole in the center of the lifter is bigger then the stock one not the outside diameter.

Jackson Auto Machine rocks, I have dealt with them before and will again in the future. I will be jumping on this hopefully this weekend if its still going.

BADEVO is right. The hole in the middle is bigger. These are the non-ticking lifters that quiet down the valvetrain.

Outside of NVH, what's the impact (negatively) of losing the balance shafts? Would it cause similar problems with bearing loads as losing the crank damper?
