TTP-Engineering February Kickoff Featured Products!

TTP-Engineering's November Hot Products Sale!

Fluidampr High Performance Engine Damper

Fluidampr invented the viscous performance diesel damper. No other damper tames torsional vibrations like the original Fluidampr that's made in the U.S.A.

Critical harmonic vibrations occur numerous times in a engine’s operating range. Stock rubber and elastomer-type dampers are frequency sensitive “tuned absorbers”, and work at only one critical frequency. In the case of a stock rubber damper, it is tuned for a factory engine’s critical harmonic vibrations. If you change the mass of pistons, rods, or the crankshaft, you change the natural frequency of the crankshaft assembly; therefore, the stock damper is no longer tuned to the new frequency of vibration, and you may be headed for early failure of expensive engine components. Dampers also create heat while they work, and rubber is a poor dissipator of heat. This heat and the exposure to the elements deteriorates rubber, causing it to crack and change durometer, which then leads to inertia ring slippage, damper failure, uncontrolled torsional vibration, and costly engine parts breakage.

Why your engine needs a damper:
Each time the air/fuel mixture inside a cylinder is ignited, the combustion that occurs creates a torque spike that is applied to the crankshaft through the piston and rod. This torque spike is so severe that it not only turns the crankshaft, it actually twists the crankshaft ahead of its normal rotation and then the crankshaft rebounds. This twisting action is known as torsional vibration. When these torque spikes and forces get into phase with the natural frequency, critical torsional harmonic vibrations occur and can be seriously destructive to the bearings and the crankshaft. Dampers are designed to control those destructive vibrations.

HKS DLi-II

The Twin Power ignition amplifier incorporates both the CDI and transistor method ignition to provide optimum spark duration and maximum voltage output, resulting in crisper throttle response and a smoother engine powerband. The CDI method, capacity discharge ignition, provides maximum voltage by transferring all stored energy in the capacitor to the ignition coil so that the ignition current can buildup quickly, thus making the Twin Power very effective in the higher revs where a normal spark would tend to diminish.

This strong rapid spark prevents the high rpm ignition miss that reduces peak power. The transistorized method generates high voltage by using transistors to cut off current to the coil, thus allowing for a long energy discharge. This longer spark duration allows the Twin Power to improve lower RPM throttle response and torque. The combination of the CDI and the transistor method incorporates two distinct systems into one high performance unit, hence the designation of Twin Power. The Twin Power produces a spark output that is typically 1.5-2.5 stronger than of the stock ignition system and consumes about 35% less power input than other ignition amplifiers.[/B]

This unit is plug and play for the EVO! 10 minute install!

Regular price: $535.00

Off a long backorder I have a shipment that came in.

This bushing is made from a 80 durometer polyurethane where the OEM rubber bushing is rated at about a 45-50 durometer rubber material (much softer) and the Powerflex kit comes supplied with a specific stainless steel sleeve and a packet of copper grease/anti-seize.

It is a direct replacement for the soft OEM front mount bushing and fits with absolutely no modification. Installation takes about 20 minutes. This stiff mount will improve starting from a stop, braking, and will improve shifting as the motor will no longer roll around in the engine bay.

$54 - FREE SHIPPING!

Side mount and transmission mount will improve turning and solid feel of the car without engine roll from the stock soft mounts.

ADD the two side mounts for $120 - FREE SHIPPING!

Gates Racing Performance Products releases their new SUPER STRONG timing and balance belt kits!
From the same manufacturer of the GReddy timing belts kits, Gates has released their OWN color impregnated belts to the Evo market.

In the past GReddy "blue" belts have been "painted" blue and in time this color wears off. With the Gates belts, the color is impregnated into the belt fiber so the belt itself is blue and just not the outer edge coating.

Enough about the cosmetics already...

Performance:

Gates Performance Timing belts have 300% more heat resistance than the stock OEM belt.

Gates Performance Timing belts have 200% more belt tooth integrity than stock OEM belts.

Gates Performance Timing belts have 300% more belt tensile endurance than stock OEM belts.

Gates Performance Timing Belts are "purpose built" for MODIFIED or TURBOCHARGED engines.

Curt Brown used the ATI because it was the only one available before the Fluidampr was released.

There are several differences between the two kinds of dampeners, that arise from their different engineering concepts.

Cost: The ATi is substantially more expensive than the Fluidampr, for reasons noted below.

Weight: ATI is heavier, by quite a bit.

Installation: The ATI requires that you use its PRESS FIT hub (replacing the factory hub) as part of the assembly, which can mean honing the hub to fit the end of your crank, and makes removal sometimes difficult. It also requires removal of the timing belt, since the timing belt is driven by the crankshaft hub. The Fluidampr uses the factory hub, and does not require timing belt removal/reinstallation.

Dampening methodology: The ATI is a rubber elastomer damping system, while the Fluidampr is a silicone liquid dampening system. Fluidampr claims its dampening medium has a wider range of dampening frequencies.

Durability: The ATI bands are replaceable, which is how they are "rebuilt". Fluidampr is a lifetime setup which does not require rebuilding.

That's a short overview of the differences. Scott's price on the Fluidampr is close to as low as I've seen anywhere.

We have also used both. The ATi broke in 900 miles. Fluidampr has had no problems as of yet.

So basically in the picture, installing the Fluidamp damper is like replacing the crank pulley? Please excuse my ignorance, I just have a hard time visualizing where everything goes...

The Fluidampr bolts to the factory crank hub with 4 bolts. A very simple install.
