Evolution MAF + Boost 2D Methanol Injection system!
Coolingmist EVO Boost + MAF SIMPLE 2D MAP KIT
OVERVIEW
This kit is designed to inject progressively using both MAF and Boost. The boost is referenced by the knobs on the Vari-Cool controller. The MAF signal is interpreted by our Smart Controller and relayed to Vari-Cool. Once Vari-Cool receives the MAF signal, it will get your boost signal and merge the two together. By default it will make boost and MAF each have 50% weight. This can be changed within the Vari-Cool Software if you wish to fine tune or change the weight. Increases in MAF or BOOST will increase flow, decreases in MAF or boost will decrease flow. This unit is 100% plug and play. You simply follow the wiring diagram and put your boost line over the boost port and your ready to go.
This system is setup and ready to go, for those of you that want to see how we programmed it for you and get more detail of how it works...check out this document. In this PDF we did a step by step setup on the Smart Injection unit to show you how we set this up using our free software. If your someone that likes to tweak things, you can use this as your guide and change the details to customize to your own likings..or you can leave as is for a simple install.

If you have an electronic boost controller the smart injection unit comes with everything you need to disable it so you are at wastegate pressure when there is a malfunction or no flow. It will also detect a clog and disable your boost controller as well.
This system is easy to setup. Just bolt the kit up and do the wiring.
Let me detail the the wiring. Smart Injection has 20 Pins. Most of these are not used for this kit. Lets discuss in detail how this works:
Pin #1 Goes to 12V power. Always fuse it with the included 1 AMP fuse.
Pin #2 Goes to Chassis Ground.
Pin #3 is not used, however its a 5V power supply for any device that draws 1 amp or less.
Pin #4 is a Digital ground output . This will activate the included solenoid.
Pin #5 is another Digital ground output. This can activate your failsafe. Your failsafe can be an electronic boost controller to activate only when the system is working correctly OR it can work with a MAC solenoid valve for a manual controller
Pin #6 is another Digital ground output and can be wired to an optional LED. This pin will activate if the system clogs. If the system clogs PIN #5 will deactivate your electronic boost controller. You dont have to do anything with this pin
Pin #7 is Digital Ground Output #4 and is not used.
Pin #8 is Digital Ground Output #5 and is not used.
Pin #9 is your programmable 0-5 V output. By default it will take your MAF sensor reading (From pin #20) and convert that to a 0-5V to send to Vari-Cool.
Pin #10 is an auxillary Ground. Not used
Pin #11 is a 0-5V input. Your status monitor is wired to this. This will monitor the line pressure at all times to the Smart Injection. Smart Injection will provide decision support.Pin #12 is another 0-5V input and is not used.
Pin #13 is a 0-5V GROUND not used
Pin #14 is another 0-5V input and is not used
Pin #15 is another 0-5V input and is not used
Pin #16 is a 0-5V Ground not used
pin #17 is for the neg terminal of an EGT PROBE (NOT USED)
PIN #18 is for the POS terminal of an EGT probe (NOT USED)
Pin #19 is Counter #1 (CAN BE USED FOR RPM, but not used in this kit)
Pin #20 is Counter #2 , this is where you hook your MAF signal wire to.

For those of you that are more advanced users you can use the free software and custom tune this kit. We have had customers that have integrated Wide Band, EGT, etc. You can also go beyond the simple 2D setup and actually use a 3D GRID if you are an advanced user.
