put it in the glove compartment? where it's miles away? putting it there would be a distraction from looking at the road.

Actually once the control unit is configured you don't need to reference it all that often. I do find myself reaching over to check my peak boost occasionally, but it is very easy to see and reach as it is installed on the left side of the glove box. I guess if you are planning to record your readings all the time and play them back while driving (talk about distraction) then it might be a little inconvenient. It is just as easy where I have it as it would be if it were on the center console by my right leg or for that matter in front of the dash in which case you would need to reach around the steering wheel.

I thought about the mounting location quite carefully. It is nice because I can close the glove box and it disappears -- it can also give the passenger something to play with.

For dvds! hahah, my car is going to make frequent trips to LA and back to Norcal so it would be wise. Having a movie playing on the main din would attract attention police.
