Horn Replacement

(I could reason NO other place for this thread - apologies if in a bad spot; and I DID use the Search first - NO matches)

The Evo's horn is damned anemic. I ain't driving a little import.

Has anyone replaced their horn with one that's a bit more like a domestic?

Input, info and how-to appreciated if they exist!

Thanks!

Haha... I don't know how you'd do it, but I'm pretty sure it's easy to do. If you do get it changed, upload a sound clip of it.

Any horn would work. I'll post right now where it's located (gonna look at fsm), but they're simple 1 wire hookup.

Yup EZ to do I have done it in my other cars, (82 accord,87 mirage turbo, 90 GSX eclipse, 95 Z28 and my 03 Yamaha FZI) I have always use the horns (hi & low) that came on the 1985 Audi 4000, to me it sounds loud and great. Now the question is, do we have to remove the bumper on the evo?

The factory horn is under the bumper cover on the driver side of the car. You will need to take the bumper cover off to get to it. I have air horns on my Evo mounted under the bumper cover on a bracket on the passenger side of the car.

I had occasion to hit my wife's Camry's horn the other day - lo and behold it doesn't sound like a tinny import. I may source that horn!
