Paint is all about quality. You can get a paint job in varying degrees starting at a few hundred at Maaco up to $60,-70,000 for a vintage car. The question is "How much am I willing to spend?" I used Herbert Standox products. Three coats of primer, three coats of color, one coat of metallic and six coats of clear. Materials alone were $5,000. You need to decide your budget and work from there.

It is Steel Gray with a few grams of pearl. The additional clear makes it look darker.

Maybe I'm slow but...
You have a 120 hp 4 door car and pay $500 for insurance and $300 for your car. How will getting a 2 door car that is obviously faster gonna fix that? I'm just confused by that. Can you explain that to anybody else why that makes sense or is Jersey that a$$ backwards? Anyway, it would be better to have a 3000GT! I just don't think your insurance will go down, but maybe it won't be too bad with it being an older car!

It all depends where you live and how desperate the paint shop is for a job. My friend had his lancer painted for $688 and it was a $1000 + job at maaco. The guys appointment sheet was almost empty. He even said "I shouldn't even do it this low but I need the work." You could also get discounts if you have two of your cars done too.
