I don't understand why Volk would do that either. For all the effort they take in making their wheels, why cheapen it with something like fake cf?

Yuppers. I wouldve expected some real cf overlayed rims from Volk though.

have you guys ever seen carbon-composite wheels on bicycles, wheelchairs, etc? It does not look like the 2x2 twill weave found on dress-up parts like hoods, etc. Carbonfiber has its strong aspects and its weak aspects. It would NOT make a good choice of materials for an automobile wheel. the first pothole you hit, the rim would crack/shatter. Carbon wheels are great for lighter vehicles like bikes and wheelchairs, not for 2000lb+ cars.
I have carbon handlebars on my bike And it does have a perfect weave to it. The bars are just as strong as the stock metal ones I had but about 10 times lighter. And yeah, its amazing the bike parts they make out of carbon fiber, the wheels are amazing with 3 hollow spokes and probably weigh nothing compared to metal spokes.

just for proof... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

I was at SEMA and didn't notice any rice at the Volk/Rays booth. I would've confronted a rep if I saw some sh:t like that!

I may have have missed them because I was in awe over the new Titanium Gunmetal color that they're offering.
