Front License Plate Mount Options

I am about to buy one of the OEM ones but I really don't want to drill into my bumper. Do any of you have any alternative mounting methods for yours?

Here's mine. Bought some bracket at home depot and mount them on the oem mount without drilling bumber.

Do you have any part numbers or pics of the brackets?

mount in front windshield or use double sided take instead of drilling into the bumper with the license plate holder

They dont have part number. Theyre just aluminum bracket that you can bend and mount to anything. I'll post some pic of the bracket whenever I got a chance tomorrow.

I used the double sided foam tape on the one against the bumper (the kind with the 'pull-to-remove' tab) because if you let it float, it will tear the paint up anyway.

stock mitsu part w/o drilling into bumper. be careful how long the passenger side screw is though. i put a little tiny scratch cause i put in aftermarket screws in and quickly noticed that one is too long.

you'll still get a ticket in hawaii for that. you are better off not having the plate at all. same fine as w/ plate in windshield.

Mine came from the dealership with brackets b/c they didn't want to drill into the bumper. I would also recommend putting some foam tape on the brackets so you don't scratch the paint. Of course KY doesn't require front license plates

I used factory mounting hardware w/ double-sided tape instead of drilling. It's held for almost a year now.

I haven't mounted mine either. I cringe at the thought of drilling into the bumper and it just looks better with no plate. I'll wait until I get pulled over, take care of the "fix it" ticket and then take it off again. I got pulled over in my GTi once and told the cop that some kids ripped it off the car on Halloween......

Kind of off topic, but what type of fog lights are those?

To answer everyone else's question there is already holes in the bumper.. you can't see them unless your laying on your back and looking up at the bumper. You should have gotten the plate holder from the dealer too. My previous owner instead of mounting the front plate bracket he just put the license plate on the passenger sun visor with two rubber bands. When he saw a cop he just flipped down the visor. Here in NM they don't require front license plates so I don't use either Hope this helps some of you.
