Agreed! It felt like I was watching arcade action. Play it real time

That was me in the EVO

Hey all,

That was me in the Evo. It was my second track day. I raced once in Arizona prior to that. The Suby guys were bugging me really bad to go head to head with them. So, we went at it. There were two STI's, and about 4 WRx,'s. Adams, who is the guy behind me was definately the fastest of them all. As we came out of the last turn and headed down the front stretch, we all went for it and I came out on top. Unfortanately, it was my first time on the track, and I had to learn the track while a WRX was breathing down my neck. As you can see I missed the Apex on several turns, due to the pressure behind. It was so much fun though, there is nothing better than going head to head with someone for the entire race. The reason why the video didn't show me towards the end, is because I made my way through some traffic, and Adam got stuck and was playing catch up.

All the Suby guys are way cool, and anytime we are at the Nasa events together we always have fun.

Next season I should be way on top. I am in the process of compeltely changing everything.

Actually I couldn't really tell. I felt like I was watching Knight Rider in Super Persuit Mode!

Is there another version without the video being sped up?

Evo Chase

I don't think there is another version of the video. Adam from lic motorsports, put it all together. All of there videos on Subydude.com seem to be that speed. Maybe its due to converting to the file format for the internet.

I don't know, I know it is a great tool to help me improve my driving.

BTW -- Kudos for going to the track.
So many owners wouldn't consider it. My last outing there were over 100 cars, but only one other Evo. It is a shame considering that even in stock trim it does really well.

Thumbs up racing

Yeah, it does suck. All the events I go too, there are 10 times more subaru's then EVO's. Atleast the subaru guys are cool, and we race together.

I am turning my car into a pure track car, with 450 WHP. This coming year should be sh%$ loads of fun.

Time to start doing videos of your own!

Check this out if you are interested. I have one and have been very impressed!

Definately, Where did you mount yours and with what. Also, what do you record to. Do you have any videos from that camera.

Thanks,

Any video camera that has the inputs and allows you to put it in VCR mode will work.
What is great about this camera is that is not susceptible to vibration. When I used to do video using the camera itself, it would cause all sorts of problems over bumps as the recording device would get badly shaken around. With the Chasecam I can store the camera in a padded bag and it records perfectly!

There are lots of mounting options available. I have found that the clamp connected to the roll bar works best in the Caterham. I haven't played with it much in the Evo but I am sure there are some good options either via a mount to the headrest or a suction mount to one of the windows.

Here is a quick sample I did earlier this year. – Sorry it is not in the Evo, but you get the idea.

My Evo is my daily driver so I don't focus on it for track duty. I have, however, had it out several times and been very pleased with it.
