Well, I'm sorry I don't have pictures for a how-to, but I'll put down the steps as best I remember.
Things you'll need:
-vinyl logos (just the letters) made by your favorite local vinyl shop. I got the .eps file from www.brandsoftheworld.com (search for ralliart). I got mine from Alexia's in Portland, Oregon. They made me 4 of them in case I messed them up. I had to guesstimate the width of the decal from the picture of it on machevo.com's website. Make sure they put it on transfer tape for you to ease application.
-Paint. I used Valspar 333N1313 POLAR GRAY BASECOAT with BASECOAT STABILIZER 161. I don't know if this is an exact match, but it's close. Also, a clearcoat of some kind.
How I did it:
1) Sand blast the entire hood vent to bare metal.
EDIT: If your original black is in good condition I suppose you could skip this step and step 2, but my paint was thrashed.
2) Have your favorite painter paint it black. They used a gloss black for mine.
3) Apply the decal on the right top side of the hood vent in the middle of the 3rd and 4th vents from the top. I simply cut one logo in half with a paper cutter and applied the halves. I just eyeballed it.
4) Have your favorite painter paint it with the basecoat+stabilizer.
5) The painter removed the decals with some difficulty. Vinyl probably isn't the best thing to use but it's just what was accessible at the time. Some of the black paint came up with the lettering removal and had to be touched up.
6) Have the painter paint it with clearcoat and that's it.
I'm sure there is a better/easier DIY method with rattle cans, but I had access to a painter and such so that's how I did it.
Good luck to all who attempt it. I'm satisfied with my result.
