I bought OEM touchup paint for my 04 Tarmac Black evo today from the dealer. The guy at the parts counter said I needed my VIN number, so i gave it to him and he brings out a pen-like touch up paint kit. The part number is MZ313375 and it says Labrador Black X42 140604.

Can anyone verify that this is correct? Shouldnt it say "Tarmac Black" instead? I dont have much confidence in my dealer since they have done nothing but screw up my car every time I brought it to them.

Yes that is correct, mitsubishi uses multiple names for the same color. It just varies by the model of car that you have. Like blue by you on the evo is the same as pacific blue on the outlander. The weightless white is the same thing as innsbruck white. Your color code is x42 which is either labrador/tarmac black. Apex silver is the same thing as cool silver. you get the idea. I took this right out of Mitsus parts accessory book.

I have a couple rock chips too =( Do they sell pens or the paint by cans? Cuz I'd like a DIY on some of those rock chips.

Evos and Regular Lancers share the same colors except for Electric blue but Electric blue is on the outlander. Tarmac Black on the Evo is the same as labrador black on the lancer. You get the idea...i hope.
