Are Seibon Cf Hoods Good Quality?

im asking because the seibon hood i ordered was 650 + 150 s&h and every other cf hood ive looked at since then is like 1500 (gialla, c west). im not paying for the hood since its being replaced under insurance since some deer had a death wish (note: evos fold like paper when hitting a deer at 55) i just want to make sure im not getting total crap. ive heard good things about seibon, just wonderin if anyone owns one or if they know whether or not its top quality. they also happen to be cheaper than our oem hood ($815, unpainted)
thanx for any input

seibon is ok at best. at that price point I'd probably go with VIS...neither of them are that great though. if fiberimages makes one, I would go with them.

see i was thinking that since most of the manufacturers of a lot of our aftermarket parts were out of country, that may have something to do with the high prices. gialla, c west etc are all japanese companies if im not mistakin and as of late some people are under the impression that buying something from overseas and payin a crap load of cash makes it the best part available. if demand is high so are the prices. also 500whp.com is overcharging for seibon hoods. they want 760+s&h. 650 is the msrp (not including shipping, obviously) and i got that directly from seibon. ill let everyone know how the hood looks and whether or not the quality is there as soon as i get my car back from the shop.

SEIBON hoods are really good quality IMO. Before I was at Exedy I was a parts distributor and I saw a TON of different hoods come through.

SEIBON was defiently top runner as far as quality, innovation and fitment.

I give SEIBON a

if i was to compare my seibon hood to my vis trunk, i would say the vis is better in quality. i dont know if this is because one is a hood and the other is a trunk, but i like the weave on the vis. i havn't seen a seibon trunk or a vis hood in person.

I have a Seibon hood and quality is pretty decent. Not great though. There are a couple ares where the weave could be tighter, but you only see it from certain angles. Also, the holes for the windshield fluid sprayers were too small and it was a pain to put those in. Other than that, I have no complaints.

That is awesome news but unfort. I had another experience with them. I am a little dissapoint. about the windshield nozzle thing (en1gma19). Also, the latch that closes the dang thing is over half an inch longer than OEM making it stand up too far. It is also warped drivers side front too high - passenger side front too low. I am gonna have to cut the latch and weld it back on to shorten it and make it fit better. Not sure if that is common or not but I sure had a discussion with them. Other than that the hood itself is nice, clean and great weave, ....just the fitment thing is off. Here a link to my documentation of the issue: http://www.xeonsolutions.com/seiboninstall.asp

Any other SEIBON cf hood owners have that same problem with the latch being too long?
