I would use some type of swirl remover. I have some swirl remover stuff from meguiars that comes in a cream colored container and has a number on it but I can't remember it's name. I'll use that to get out the swirls and surface scratches then hit it with some Zaino and it looks good as new. The Zaino swirl remover isn't very aggressive and it takes too many coats to get the finish the way I like it. Some times I'll use the Meguiars swirl remover then, a coat of the Zaino swirl remover as a finish for surface prep and then, the Zaino polish.
After trying god knows how many different types of wax and polish over the years Zaino is my favorite.

I've tried zaino.. and the result is great.. the only setback i had was that there were to many steps in detailing the paint job. Too tedious. Opted for an easier option, Meg NXT.... as easy as A,B,C......

Hey that was a pretty good thread.....I've been neglecting the LY paint over here, so I'm putting in an order tonight for the clearkote killer combo with the ssr 2.5 swirl remover and the travel kit looks pretty handy for the long trips and car show.......You can always count on Dan for the coolest info.....What can Brown do for you
