Best mp3 player?

What's the best mp3 player that's relatively decent price?

i don't much care about much but the players gotta play mp3, do the catalogging for the folders and pump out least 50w x 4 + and must have a knob for volume, i hate push button for volume.

thanks for your help.

my old jvc's not cutting it anymore, although it's a nice unit. I hate having 10,000 cd's in my car all the time.

kenwood excelon x679 plays great mp3 cds and i think 4.5 or 5v preamps that helps a lot if your adding a system.and it has a volume knob. Its an excelon so you get what you pay for. I think I paid 170$ from ebay they might be cheaper now.The new models for this year ar nice too, check em' out at www.kenwoodusa.com.

kenwood excelon x679 looked good. it's around $170 to $200.

I was thinking about getting the cheap http://www.crutchfield.com/S-rJ1QScp...&display=L#Tab

but what the hell am I gonna do with a 7" screen? Like i'm gonna watch a movie while I'm driving or even parked.

Anyway, I was looking at some alpine ones as well.

like the alpine 9843 or 9845? or even jvc arsenal ar360.

i already have the jvc harness, so maybe i'll get the arsenal.

for some reason, as I get older, I look for the simplest thing that's out there with basic foundamental things in it, like from mp3 player, plays music, simple to operate and sounds great.

ok, here is the deal.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=148349

it's either a set of tires, or a nice head unit.

I'm thinking I need tires, and get a semi decent head unit that plays mp3

or

get a hella nice head unit that's going to last for a while, and just get the same ok kumho asx tires that lasts forever that I have.

see the issue I'm going through here? lol

I bought the 2nd MP3 car deck that ever came out (Aiwa CDC-MP3) 5 years ago. I've lived off MP3 CDs. I've been telling for years that MP3 decks are the way to go. I've been meaning to upgrade for the past few years.

That being said...I bought an iPod with my Bday money instead of a new deck. By far, it is the easiest to handle. Fortunately, my cheap Aiwa has a front auxillary input which made the iPod transfer much easier. Yes you can fit many MP3s on a CD, but I had a million unmarked CD-RWs laying in my car. It so much faster to transfer music to the iPod than to burn CDs. Something always goes wrong when I need to burn a CD in a hurry. So I suggest to try to an iPod instead. If it doesn't work out, then return it and get a MP3 deck.

actually I had that aiwa cdc mp3 with the steering wheel remote.

yes, they are the best mp3 i've had. I had to sell that with the prelude, but I'm thinking mp3 gotten a lot better since then and cheaper.

I've got a sony headunit.. the CDX-F7700. It is 54x4, has 3 rca preouts, 1 aux input, and a mono sub output. It has played every single mp3 I have, and it sounds great. It has filter options for mp3's so it is less distorted with background noise. It just about sounds as good as a regular cd. I can put folders inside folders as deep as I want and I can navigate thru them easily. Its a pretty low priced headunit now, but when I got it, it costed around 279 bux. Never has given me any problems at all. It won't however play WMA's though.. but I just convert my WMA's to MP3's with dB Amp music converter. (free download)
