Are you sure they have intercooler spray? I don't see any button for it
As far as what I heard, IX's will not have IC spray..?
btw neither ones have vortex generator... I guess Japanese Evos don't need it since all of their Evo's max speed is like 110mph...

Is that a 6th gear in the RS model I see???? So if the took out the IC Sprayer for the MR only why does my 05 EVO VIII not have it? What the heck do you need a power folding mirror for?

2006 STi test drive
Well, I test drove a WR blue 2006 STi and it was amazing. Everyone knows I hated the 06 prior to seeing it. Once I saw it in person it started to grow on me, and now that I've driven the JDM 06 STi I have a new respect for it.
Interior
Well, there were a few key differences, such as a 2 din navigation system (A must have if you own this car) and better seats. The JDM seats have higher bolsters and the black portion is made of a better grade fabric material. The Spec C has all black seats and they were just as good as the Evo IX seats IMHO.
Exterior
The Spec C lip as seen in the below pics on the white car make all the difference in the world. When comparing it with the blue STi w/o the lip it put it to shame. The lip was made of a high quality plastic (rubber??) material and seemed really strong. I took some parts catalogues (i.e. anyone with an Sti needs a lip) for you guys
I'm not sure if it was the lighting, but the headlights and lower portion of the taillights seemed to have a slight smoke color to them. Also, the BBS wheels are not standard equipment on the Japanese STi, and they don't offer the silver BBS wheels. They do have a much better design BBS silver alloy wheel from the Spec C as an option.
Driving Experience
I learned from my test drive of the Evo IX, so this time I choose to hit a 4 lane road and take the car up to 100kmh. The car felt really linear and power delivery was smooth. The turbo came along nicely as I hit redline several times in 2nd and 3rd gear. The 2.0L is the shiet!! The suspension felt really good and tight as well.
Overall, a fully loaded 2006 STi will run you $32,900 and a decked out STi Spec C Type RA will cost $33,600 in Japan. With a lip, Navi, and a decent drop you got a street/track warrior with legendary pedigree. Throw in some STi parts to keep it fresh and I dig it indeed.
