Nope, it\'s a decent radio. I rather put $ in mods.

the way to go with a deck is something that has really low impedance (internally) with really high preouts. most decks have about 5k of internal resistance and a claimed 4-5volt preout (usually measures 2-3volts) Eclipse makes decks with true 8 volt preouts and with 55 ohms of resistance vs 5k on most decks so in other words its an extreamly clean signal deck (55060) it doesn't play Mp3's dirrectly however it has an aux input so you can hook up a laptop or whatever else you want to play through you sound system.

My system will be a Nak 45Z (MB6later on) My trusty ADS powerplate 840(8*40 watts with bandpass internal crossovers for every channel ). Morel 6.5s in the doors/ Morel 3"soft dome mids in the a pillars/Morel 1.1" soft dome silk tweeters in the a pillars. and ID chameleom 6.5" that fit perfect in the back deck running sub duties. They make suprising tight deep bass running freeair and with the output of a good 8"- Total weight increase 20 lbs And with the SQ to drive in and compete
Nak, ADS, tooooo over rated too over priced.
I was going to comment on some of the other brands, but then it would seem I was just looking for argument.
Although Nak, and A/D/S are brands that I would never suggest to any one except an annoying know-it-all or some one I just didn't like.

Go with the DLS Iridium if your using the door location. They are much better off axis and the tweeter is much smoother. I had Utopia's, took 2nd in IASCA finals to the Focal car from France by .6 points. I' switched to DLS and it was an improvement. I like the Utopia's, I built a few world champions with them but I think the DLS is a better product. They will be in my car unless I get these prototype billet, hand made $6,000 components from an audio engineer in Germany to evaluate.

Needed a Change
I had to go with an upgrade....after much research, this is what I went with:
Pioneer AVIC-N1 - which is frickin sweet, does everything but DVD Audio
Dual Polk MM104 - 10" Subs
Rears - Infinity KAPPA 63.5I 3-Way
Fronts - KAPPA 60.5CS Components
Amp - Polk C300.2
Feel free to check it out here
Much thanks to my man Patrick for hookin me up and helpin with the install.
Overall real happy with how it turned out. Still need to add a 4 channel amp. Any suggestions?

I think I'll just wait to see what Alpine unveils at CES next year...
but what I want now is:
Alpine Touch screen DVD w/ 16gb HDD(I think it's 16...)
with Alpine Type X internals & components with probably like 450W amp
and the 12" type X on a 1000/1 amp
but that's like 5-6 G's and I'll have to strip weight back out
