.You guys havn't heard fo QEW have you? QEW is short for quick easy wash, basically an easy way to wash the car without using much water at all. It's very lubricious (is thata word?) and does a great job of letting you take quite an amount of crud off the car....but be warned, it can only go so far before you need some actual water pressure to clean stuff off (or you'll be swirling the **** out fo your paint). 2 things help...
First, a touchless enclosed car wash. This avoids sub zero blowing wind to freeze the water and soap on your car. An automatic dryer at the end of the wash blows away most of the water. The only down side to a touchless wash is that it uses harsh chemicals in the soap (which is why they work so well at cleaning away dirt/salt) which eat away your nice wax coating in a few washes. But hey its only for a few months until temps reach above freezing where you can go back to hand washing.
Secondly, is find an indoor manual car wash. Some are even heated. They may be hard to come by but there are still some out there. Pull in a bay and hand wash your car without freezing your **** off! Go late at night when there is less traffic that way you can take your time and work on all the nooks and crannies without worrying about someone waiting for your bay.
There is NO WAY in hell that I'd attempt to wash my car outside in freezing temps. Not worth the frost bitten fingers and not to mention having to quickly clean each panel before the soap and water freeze. That's just crazy!
