So the evo 8 cover doesn't have the same mounts as the 9 cover?

Its gonna cost at least $1000 from the dealer......and then.....your intercooler will look off center. The only way to fix that is larger intercooler!

How does the IX bumper make the IC off center (on the EVO VIII) any diffrent than the IX bumper on a EVO IX?

They didn't change the Piping or Core as far As I know?
Does it look off center normally on the IX?

I don't see how this would be true?

My guess would be as long as you get the bumper support of the IX it will mount up the same as it should.

The intercooler isn't centered on the car.......on the 8 its not noticable.....on the 9 it sticks out like a sore thumb.

You'll notice most EVO9 guys take pics at an angle to hide the fact that it looks "off".

If you look at a straight on shot of an evo9 you can't miss it.

people kept changing the story. So you need what to make it fit?

The 9 bumper support and will it fit on an 8?

::Stupid question:: are the headlight the same shape?? Do the headlights need to be changed at all, or will they fit?

after that everything should be the same. You would just need to buy everything.

Bumper cover
Mesh
lip
ducts
... anything else?

Can someone comment on this? I'm interested in this conversion. I would think that we would need a different bumper support, since the bumpers are different in shape. How much does that part cost?

the picture might look like the fitment is perfect, but jsut wondering if anyone asked the owner if there had to be major body work on the finberglass to get it to fit so nice. Just wondering...

Yes you will probably need the bumper support..I believe it was $70 +/- if not get your money back for it.

The price is on another thread 1 page back.

I went ahead and got the Bumper, lip,Bump support and all 4 grills.I'm sure most everythig else is reuseable from the E8.

If the E8 bump support works I'll let everyone know.

Only a few have the conversion and I think they even bought them from someone (all together) and didn't do the install themselves (shop install).

I'll do a write up once I'm done and will try to keep the E8 Water squirters as well.
I'm gonna do it myself. This should be a walk in the park compared to a JDM ITR front end conversion done by myself.

BTW: headlighst and fenders are all still the same.It was just a face lift for this model year.Next year is the complete Change.
