Color matched / replaced stock interior gauge lights with some red LEDs

does anyone know how the led kit compares to the regular lights, i read somewhere a while ago about leds not spreading out the light and only focusing out in one spot?
oh and for the gauge kit do you have to recalibrate?

the pic i posted is with all 4, which is dark
i have tried 2 which is brighter but not as red. looks better imo
