yea its not as good as stock but I can't complain

 

02-05 si works as well. I swapped mine at the dealership as I was driving off in the evo.

 

My Perrin sits flush and the reception is the same as with the stocker. You must have gotten a bad one!

 

you guys need to get a cutter and a cap from autozone. $5.
cut the antenna and cap it!
great reception, looks and less money spent.
I bought s2k, element and bug antennas and the cut one worked best.

 

I am a bit confused. Didn't you guys get this antenna on your cars stock?
Now, why would mitsu do this? Long antennas in US and short in Japan??

 

Well Mitsubishi has to be gay like that. lol We don't get the JDM Evo IX bumper either or the AYC.

 

The threaded part is adjustable, you can screw it in and out to adjust the amount that screws into the car, so no gap is attainable.

 

there is no gap you just need to play around with it.

 

I tried cutting and capping my stock antenna, same crap reception as the Perrin. There are stations that it used to pick up that it doesnt even recognize now. Does the head unit matter ? Ive just got the stock Mitsu unit.

stock ant reception is still the best, i have all three, stock> S2k > perrin
