powdercoat IX rims

has anyone powdercoated or painted the ix rims yet..im wondering how they will look in a different color...if you guys could post pics please..any color car..ill post in photoshop as well maybe they can change the color of my rims in a pic

just a word of advice for heating aluminum rims... make sure you use a low temp powdercoating finish all I know is if you heat them beyond 350 400ish you can affect the aluminum and get micro cracks that you can't see I'd suggest a good paint finish... I would hate to see what would happen if your rim gave up at 100 **** even at 60...

i would hate to see them give up at all, cause that would defeat the purpose of saving money...lol...esp when i love the way my stockers look on the car

Yeah, becareful if you want to powdercoat the stock wheels. Extreme temperatures usually common in powdercoating often leads to a weakening in the wheel's integrity.

If you want to do it, make sure you ask the shop regarding this and if they can do it at a much lower temperature. If they don't know or aren't sure, find another more experienced shop. Good luck.

i dunnoe about powdercoating it, but juss spraying it with a black gloss paint would look nice...

I don't know if the rims were power coated or not...but When I bought my IX at South Coast, They had a TB IX with Stock Black IX rims. Looked nice. I kinda wanted to get those and put it on my EBP IX but decided not to.
